Project Leader: Cornelia Heyns
Cornelia Heyns already started distributing food to the needy in her immediate vicinity in 1997. As donations are very scarce it is not possible for her to distribute food on a regular basis. According to Cornelia there are approximately 50 children, 10 adults and 10 old people who require food on a weekly basis.
Project needs:
- Toiletries: body soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, roll-on, hairbrushes, shampoo, vaseline
- Toys: tennis balls and rackets
- Food: vegetables, soup bones, rice, bread, jam, peanut butter, cool drink
- Stationary/ books: pens, writing pads
- Clothing: school clothes for boys and girls (ages 5-14), school shoes for boys and girls (sizes 10, 2, 3, 4)
- Cutlery and crockery: plastic plates, plastic spoons, plastic forks
- Kitchen and other electrical appliances: big pot for food, rice strainer, refrigerator, washing machine, two-plate stove
- Cleaning products: dishwashing liquid, wash cloths
- Building: container
- Arts/ crafts: wool, knitting needles
- Volunteers: to cut vegetables and help to prepare the food
- Training: bookkeeping course
